What is a Professional Organizer?
What is a Professional Organizer?
A professional organizer is someone who organizes other people’s lives and belongings. We are experts in maximizing space and functionality in homes and businesses, and we can help you organize any of the cluttered physical and digital spaces in your life: closets, pantries or entire kitchens, children’s rooms, offices, files and much more!
We offer support in critical thinking and decision-making regarding your needs, facilitate actions around removal of unwanted belongings, and set up storage and retrieval systems that help our clients relieve stress, establish order and gain clarity.
In what areas can you help me get organized?
In what areas can you help me get organized?
The 3 main areas where we help our clients get organized are:
Physical spaces- areas in your home or business such as kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, playrooms, dens, garages, attics, craft rooms, offices, stock rooms and more. Some clients' need help with specific areas of rooms like pantries, closets, cabinets, drawers, desks, shelves, bookcases, etc.
Physical spaces can also include helping people through certain transitional periods of life like moving, downsizing, retirement, a new addition to the family, death of a loved one and more.
Data- can be physical or digital, or both. Physical data usually involves organizing papers, folders, books, binders, planners and more. Digital data can include documents, files, photos and other information on your computer, tablet, or phone. Organizing your data allows you to quickly and easily locate the information you need when you need it without wasting time digging through endless files and piles of paper.
Time- time management services are for the person who has trouble balancing their schedule, arriving to places on time and prepared, and/or completing tasks in a timely manner. Helping you organize your time includes things like assessing your schedule and obligations, finding where you’re losing time, and developing solutions for you to maximize the time you have. This will improve your functionality and productivity, and allow your life to be more streamlined and less harried.
Are organizers and cleaners the same?
Are organizers and cleaners the same?
Although we all tend to use words like clean and organize interchangeably, they’re actually different! Some basic definitions are:
Clean- free of dirt, dust, marks, and stains
Organize- a structured order, to arrange and plan; to order things so that they can be found or used easily and quickly
So while cleaning simply involves removal of dirt, organizing is centered on designing systems to help you better manage and maintain your belongings, information, and time. With these systems designed and tailored to your individual needs, organizing helps you become more functional and productive by adding efficiency to your life and removing a ton of stress and overwhelm.

The first step is booking your free Discovery Call. During this 10–15-minute call we’ll introduce ourselves and talk briefly about your overall organizing goals.
Next, we’ll complete an Initial Consultation. In this 30–60-minute session we’ll meet in your space and get into detail about your project. We’ll assess the area, find what’s working and what’s not, and begin to develop an Action Plan to get a clear understanding of the steps we’ll take and in what order to take them.
After you choose your organizing package, we’ll book your first appointment and begin your project! We’ll start with decluttering your area, then move into sorting and arranging.
The last and final step is you enjoying your renewed space!
Should I clean or straighten up before services?
Should I clean or straighten up before services?
No, please don’t! Allowing us to see your space in its current state helps us assess your needs with the most precision, as well as come up with the best ideas for solutions that are tailored specifically to you. We are honored to be invited into your space so please rest assured that ALL of our services are rendered without judgement or bias. Your area in its most natural state helps us help you best.
Will I have to throw all my stuff away?
Will I have to throw all my stuff away?
Getting rid of stuff is always your decision. Decluttering is always the first part of the process, but we are not here to make you throw all your stuff away! We’re here to help you make better decisions regarding what you need and what you don’t, and design storage and retrieval systems that allow you to store and access your things in the most efficient ways possible.
Will I have to buy anything?
Will I have to buy anything?
We always try to use what clients have on hand for storage options before anything else. If what you already own doesn’t meet your storage needs, we will make product recommendations and can even do the shopping for you!
We also ask that you not buy any products before your session so that we can ensure we’re choosing the most optimal products for your space and needs.
Do I have to be present during organizing sessions?
Do I have to be present during organizing sessions?
It’s always best that you’re present to ensure that we’re keeping what you need, getting rid of what you don’t need, and creating a system that works for you.
We understand that life is busy and demanding so some clients may occasionally need to leave for a bit during a session or miss a session altogether. This is perfectly fine and we’re able to work around it as long as the goals of the session are clearly defined and we’re past the purge portion of your services. This is because we don’t remove or throw away anything without your knowledge and explicit permission, and we need you there for that!
Is our work together confidential?
Is our work together confidential?
Because this can be a sensitive matter for many people, we respect our clients’ privacy and honor a strict confidentiality policy. Our full policy as well as ethics statements are listed in the service agreement we sign before we get started. We may take photos for “before and afters,” and then we ensure that there are no pictures of you or your family, or identifying information visible. No one will know that you came to us for services unless you tell them.
How much does it cost?
How much does it cost?
Total cost varies between different clients and projects. No two spaces are exactly the same, so we charge an hourly rate to keep things fair for all of our clients. For in-person organizing, the hourly rate decreases with the more hours you purchase from our package options. Virtual organizing is an option for people who mainly need to be guided through their project or just have a few questions they need answered and is offered at a lower hourly rate. Our coaching program is for people who want to improve their overall lifestyle; coaching focuses on learning how to stay organized by exchanging bad habits for good ones. Prices for each service are listed on our Services page.
